Opening a FasTrak account and getting a transponder has never been easier. South Bay Expressway FasTrak transponders are available at three Costco locations:
Priced at $34.99, each activated account will receive $40 in pre-paid tolls. Of that amount, $5.01 in free toll credits will be good only for travel on South Bay Expressway. Existing South Bay Expressway customers can add transponders to their account and get the same $40 deal. This offer can be combined with our Refer-A-Friend promotion for a total of $15.01 in free tolls for $34.99 (saving 30%). To activate a new account or add a transponder, FasTrak customers need to register their transponder by clicking here or by calling the South Bay Expressway Customer Service Center at (619) 661-7070, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Callers will need to provide the transponder ID number and activation code (located on the back of the registration card included in the Costco package). Transponders must be registered within three days of use. No deposit for the transponder is necessary with FasTrak accounts set up using a valid credit or debit card. Transponders cannot be returned to Costco. FasTrak customers enjoy significantly discounted toll rates and special offers. Having a FasTrak transponder mounted on your vehicle allows you to bypass tollbooths without stopping or slowing. The transponder works together with electronic readers installed on the toll roads. When a FasTrak customer is traveling on a toll road, an antenna reads the transponder, and the toll is automatically deducted from the customer’s prepaid FasTrak account. |

Important Information about our Customer Service Center...

Also note that there will be no Toll Attendants on duty at the Otay Mesa Toll Plaza on Memorial Day. Cash paying travelers should note that Automated Cash Machines take exact change only, so please plan accordingly.
